Sully’s Sunday morning started with a quick walk at 7.15 down Nash Lane with George. At that time on a Sunday morning there was no one else out but it was lovely to watch the sun come up. Being somewhere new for Sully he enjoyed all the new smells and sights of Yeovil and was dragging his heels to come home.
Sully’s next adventure of the day was to head down Bunford Hill and out along Lysander Road to visit the best of Yeovil town’s country park Ninesprings. Bunford Hill is a pretty steep hill and Sully started off with good pace dragging George off on his new adventure. At this point it was fairly dry but pretty chilly. The walk to Ninesprings is a straight pathway along Lysander road although Sully seemed to try to cross the road at every opportunity, not sure he would have found much in the likes of B&Q and Westlands however he may have been partial to a Greggs vegan roll. Upon going under the bridge into Ninesprings snow started to fall although it was far too wet and muddy for it to start to settle. The path into Ninesprings was fairly quiet as most other people tend to park at the car park we therefore managed to stay fairly dry and stay on the path.
When entering Ninesprings the first point of call was a drink for Sully and a drink for Jess and George being a cold day and it was a great pit stop and definitely warmed us up. We had a wander up the main hills of the park and encountered lots of other dogs including two Dalmatians, pugs and a beagle (although Sully was disappointed this wasn’t his friend Alfie the beagle). Everybody seemed to be very happy to see Sully and laughed at how muddy he had become and the prospect of a bath on his return.
The snow was really coming down so it was time to head back along Lysander Road and up the hill. Sully managed to find a stick and carry this the whole way to the bottom of the hill but the thought of lugging it up was too much and it was left behind. Jess was pretty pleased about this as it was knocking the shins! The walk came in at 6.41km and conveniently the snow stopped as soon as we got home.
